On the morning of 18th June, a Soyuz spacecraft landed on the Kazakh steppe, bringing British astronaut Tim Peake and his US and Russian colleagues Tim Kopra and Yuri Malenchenko safely back onto the Earth’s surface.

During his six-month stay at the International Space Station, Peake became the first astronaut to carry out a spacewalk flying the British flag. We put his feat into context in DG #22 with this infographic tracking some of the best ‘firsts’ in 51 years of spacewalking.
