On 6th February 2018 the most powerful rocket in the world was sent to space – not by NASA or any other government agency, but by a billionaire. Elon Musk’s SpaceX launched the Falcon Heavy into the heavens and made headlines around the world; on board was his own Tesla Roadster car, which the mission left in orbit around the sun. And Musk is not alone: a new breed of entrepreneurs, investors and inventors are looking to the skies to augment their fortunes and perhaps save humanity in the process.
