Inspired by the historic victory of the South Korean film Parasite, which scooped four Academy Awards on 26th February 2020 – in the process becoming the first non-English-language movie ever to win Best Picture – we investigated the secret ingredients of Oscar success in DG #38. Surveying 92 years of Best Actress and Best Actor awards, we isolated the roles, character quirks, plots and setting that will ensure any jobbing Hollywood star ultimate mantelpiece glory.
