Last Sunday, Erbil’s citadel in Iraqi Kurdistan was officially recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fortified settlement was one of 26 sites added to the list in June 2014. Here are some World Heritage winners and losers, taken from issue #15 of Delayed Gratification.
