As photographic evidence emerged of Sylvester Stallone going out for lunch in September 2015, we calculated the arboreal cost of some of the month’s flimsiest celebrity gossip stories.
This infographic is taken from issue #20 of Delayed Gratification, which is available in our shop.
How it works: We measured the amount of paper used for each story and multiplied it by the latest audited circulation of the publication and the GSM (grammes per square metre) of the paper to discover the overall weight. Environmental impact estimates were then made using the Environmental Paper Network Paper Calculator Version 3.2 (for more information visit environmentalpaper.org), factoring in the specific paper type of each publication. All estimates are approximate and rounded to the nearest tree.
