As news broke that Kate Hudson wore a crop top on a film set in May, we calculated how many trees were felled to print some of the month’s other showbiz stories.
This infographic appeared in issue #19 of Delayed Gratification, which is available in our shop.
How it works: We measured the amount of paper used for each story and multiplied it by the latest audited circulation of the publication and the GSM (grammes per square metre) of the paper to discover the overall weight. Environmental impact estimates were then made using the Environmental Paper Network Paper Calculator Version 3.2 (for more information visit papercalculator.org), factoring in the specific paper type of each publication. All estimates are approximate and rounded to the nearest tree.
