And the best editors of the year award goes to…

Nail up the bunting and let the champagne corks pop: at last night’s British Society of Magazine Editors awards ceremony, DG editors Rob and Marcus took home the prize for best editors of an independent publication.

It’s the first time the British Society of Magazine Editors had a special category for independent magazines, and we faced some excellent competitors including Avaunt Magazine’s Dan Crowe, Hole & Corner’s Sam Walton and Dezeen’s Marcus Fairs.

Penny Martin of The Gentlewoman, John L Walters of Eye Magazine (for his work on Pulp), and Index on Censorship’s Rachael Jolley were some more indie mag folk who took home gongs at yesterday’s black tie event. Here’s the full list of winners.
